A high proportion of first fill sherry-seasoned oak casks contribute significantly to The 18's distinct, vibrant character. Two types of oak are used to instil different dimensions to the whisky - American oak offers a lighter, sweeter flavour whilst European oak adds a richness and spice. However, it is the time spent in these casks which makes the biggest difference to our spirit.
